There are many factors that can influence our sense of belonging, such as our age, gender, culture or social status. Belonging is a basic human need and it is important for our mental health and wellbeing. A sense of belonging can enhance our self-esteem, increase our resilience and help us to cope with difficult times. When we feel like we belong, we are more likely to cooperate with others and behave in ways that benefit the community. I am not sure if it is something special, yet it was largely values and thoughts that I gathered as I grew older.
